Costa Rican Insurer Completes Migration to Azure Cloud, Moves Oracle RAC from Aging ODA to FlashGrid

Sociedad de Seguridad de Vida del Magisterio Nacional (SSVMN), a Costa Rican insurance provider, faced a challenge while migrating to the Azure cloud. Their main Oracle RAC database remained in an on-premises data center, causing unacceptable latency issues due to the distance to their US-based Azure region. To complete their cloud consolidation and stabilize their infrastructure, they sought a solution for implementing a high-performance Oracle RAC on Azure and partnered with vendor FlashGrid.

FlashGrid deployed its cloud engineered system for Azure, implementing a multi-AZ Oracle RAC cluster on virtual machines. The solution successfully migrated the database to the cloud, driving latency under 1ms. The FlashGrid-based system also demonstrated superior performance on bulk jobs compared to the previous appliance and provided better protection against infrastructure failures through its multi-AZ configuration, ensuring 24/7 uptime.
