BCR’s George turns banking on its head using micro-influencer content

Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR) sought to increase awareness for its digital banking app, George, and drive app installs and sign-ups in the Romanian market. To combat the novelty of digital-only banking and to promote contactless payments during the pandemic, the bank partnered with Flaminjoy and leveraged its Creative Studio to exponentially generate user-generated content (UGC) with a donation-based campaign.

Flaminjoy’s solution involved a mass-sampling campaign with micro-influencers, which generated over 1,200 pieces of UGC. The vendor then combined this UGC with BCR’s brand assets in its Creative Studio to produce automated, high-performance ads at scale. The results for BCR were significant, including 3 million impressions, a 2.4x lower cost per app install, and a 31% better conversion rate from download to banking client.
