Komerční banka, a major banking institution in the Czech Republic, faced significant challenges due to its legacy monolithic architecture. This outdated system, managed by over 400 developers, resulted in slow development cycles, high risk of bugs, and a lack of scalability. To modernize and stay competitive, KB launched an initiative to adopt a microservices-based architecture and needed a feature flagging solution that supported this new agile approach.

The bank chose Flagsmith's open-source feature flag platform for its flexibility, excellent documentation, and support capabilities. Implementing Flagsmith allowed over 85 engineers to begin deploying features daily in non-production environments, a vast improvement from the previous three deploys per year. This enabled faster, more confident releases and KB plans to further integrate Flagsmith with JIRA to improve efficiency.
