A Fivetran Case Study
Wallapop, the Spanish start-up behind a popular second‑hand marketplace with millions of users, relied heavily on analytics but struggled to get reliable data into its Amazon Redshift warehouse. Proprietary MySQL code, frequent Zendesk changes and manual ETL meant analysts spent 60–70% of their time on extraction and cleansing instead of strategic work. To solve this, Wallapop adopted Fivetran automation and connectors to streamline pipeline ingestion from MySQL, Zendesk and other sources.
Fivetran’s pre-built schemas and automated syncs removed the manual configuration burden, eliminated data loss and duplication, and freed the BI team to focus on analysis, A/B testing and self‑service reports in Looker. As a result of using Fivetran, Wallapop no longer loses data, has greatly reduced the time spent on ETL (previously 60–70% of analysts’ time), and now trusts and accelerates delivery of insights into Redshift.
