Vida Health, a digital health company providing personalized virtual care for people with chronic conditions, needed a more scalable and reliable data stack. Before Fivetran, the team relied on custom Python scripts and cron jobs to move and transform data in BigQuery, which was fragile, hard to maintain, and sometimes caused reporting downtime of 2–3 days.

Using Fivetran and dbt, Vida Health centralized data from 148 connections into BigQuery, including SaaS sources and PHI from systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Google Cloud Storage. Fivetran’s automated, secure connectors and dbt’s modular transformations improved collaboration, reduced maintenance, and sped up delivery: executive KPI creation dropped from 3 months to 1 day, and the analytics team could self-serve 80% of new data product work, up from 20%.
