Newsela, an education content platform, struggled with fragmented in-app reporting and multiple email systems (Marketo, Outreach.io, SendGrid) that prevented a holistic view of marketing performance and raw data access for campaign analysis. After an internal Marketo pipeline proved costly and unreliable, Newsela engaged Fivetran to centralize its raw sources into Snowflake so it could join Salesforce, Marketo and other data for deeper analysis.

Fivetran delivered managed connectors that replicate Marketo, Salesforce, Google Sheets, SendGrid and other sources into Snowflake, enabling Looker dashboards, a marketing influence model and a brand index. The set-it-and-forget-it solution gave Newsela reliable, queryable raw data, accelerated time-to-value, freed engineering resources for the Snowflake migration, and delivered estimated engineering cost savings of over 70% (about 73–77%).
