A Fivetran Case Study
Kiva, the international nonprofit that crowdfunds loans to expand financial access, struggled with a data warehouse that required constant monitoring by a full‑time engineer and where reloading data took an entire day. As Kiva grew and needed to centralize events data and bring in its MySQL database, it engaged Fivetran to simplify and automate data replication.
Fivetran deployed connectors to create a steady, zero‑maintenance stream of data from events and MySQL into Kiva’s warehouse, freeing engineers from continual ETL monitoring so they could build microfinance products instead. With Fivetran, Kiva can now join web events to transactions to understand what motivates lenders, measure social impact and partner health, and better serve its mission.
