A Fischer Identity Case Study
Northeast Community College engaged Fischer Identity to expand its IAM program by integrating Azure Directory Sync for all user types. NEC had been using Fischer Identity’s Provisioning / De-Provisioning to provision students directly into Azure Active Directory while employees were synchronized via Microsoft’s Azure AD Sync (source of authority: Banner); the college wanted a consistent, college-wide sync approach but needed to retain Azure AD Sync because of existing SSO dependencies.
Fischer Identity reconfigured NEC’s provisioning so students are no longer created directly in Azure AD but are instead added to additional AD groups that Azure AD Sync will synchronize for all user types. Fischer Identity also removed Azure AD-specific resources, associations, and policy configurations, delivering a unified synchronization model for students and employees and simplifying account provisioning/de-provisioning (project completed 09/01/20–10/16/2020).
