NRF Finds Grassroots Success Using VoterVoice’s Segmentation Features

The National Retail Federation (NRF), which represents roughly 52 million U.S. retail jobs, faced a COVID-19 crisis that threatened businesses, required advocacy on a wide range of federal and state issues, and forced its two-day Washington fly-in to go virtual. The organization needed a way to track legislation across 50 states, rapidly mobilize advocates on multiple priorities (from relief to labor and infrastructure), and still show clear results to members.

NRF partnered with FiscalNote and used VoterVoice’s segmentation, scorecards, and reporting tools to target advocates, run virtual store tours, town halls, and a policymaker series, and grow participation. The effort generated more than 42,000 messages to 472 members of Congress, mobilized about 20,000 advocates (78% new to NRF’s network), hosted 13 virtual store tours and four town halls engaging 25 lawmakers and 200 retailers, and produced data-driven reports and a year-in-review to demonstrate advocacy impact.
