How the International Code Council Stays on Top of 1,500 Issues a Year with FiscalNote

The International Code Council (ICC) is a nonprofit that develops the I-Codes—model building and safety codes used across all 50 states and internationally. Its Government Relations team tracks roughly 1,200–1,500 pieces of legislation each year, but was managing that workload with spreadsheets, emails, and a dispersed staff, creating a need for a streamlined, flexible, all-in-one policy monitoring and collaboration tool.

By adopting FiscalNote, ICC consolidated legislative searches, issue folders, alerts, notes, and stakeholder directories into a single platform used by 25 staffers including the CEO. The result: faster, coordinated responses to state and federal legislation, clearer institutional memory and messaging across regions, easy 30,000-foot reporting for leadership, and a more efficient national government relations operation.
