A FiscalNote Case Study
The Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) is a national coalition representing 29 scientific societies and over 130,000 researchers. In September 2020 it launched an advocacy push to secure $15.5 billion in emergency funding for NIH and NSF after COVID-19 disruptions threatened lab work and researcher careers, but initial outreach using phone calls through VoterVoice produced only about 40 responses.
Using VoterVoice’s real-time reporting and support, FASEB expanded its tactics—adding email, social sharing, photos, and tweets to give supporters more ways to act. The broader, multi-channel approach drove engagement from about 40 phone calls to nearly 1,600 actions in days (roughly a 4,000% increase), raised awareness for the funding request, and set the organization up to continue scaling digital advocacy.
