A FISCAL Technologies Case Study
Perth & Kinross Council faced significant challenges in its decentralized procure-to-pay (P2P) processes, with one employee handling 75,000 supplier invoices annually. This system was inefficient and created a high risk of overpayments and fraud, leaving the council's £274 million annual supplier spend vulnerable. To address this, the council sought a solution from vendor FISCAL Technologies that would offer preventative controls, save time, and provide better protection.
FISCAL Technologies implemented its P2P risk management solution, which included a free initial Risk Review, simple software implementation, and comprehensive training services. The results were substantial, including the recovery or prevention of £394,000 in overpayments, greater visibility over transactions, and more efficient P2P processes. The council now uses the software for just ten minutes a day to prevent erroneous payments and has gained a global view of its spending for the first time.
