World Largest Fastest-Growing Company needed a way to provide financial services and technology to India’s underbanked citizens, including millions who remained unbanked. FIS addressed that need with its Financial Inclusion Lab and related banking and financial literacy initiatives.

FIS worked with the Indian government, banks, entrepreneurs, and nonprofit groups to expand access to banking and financial education, including Financial Literacy Centers and camps for children and women. It also served as Bandhan Bank’s technology partner, building and deploying the bank’s banking and payments platform, with 501 branches live on the first day of inauguration. The effort helped empower 4.33 million women, supported 12 thousand ATMs across rural, semi-rural, and urban India, and included the world’s highest ATM at 13.2 thousand feet.
