Case Study: ANZ Bank achieves real-time, omnichannel digital banking with FIS Systematics upgrade

A FIS Case Study

Preview of the ANZ Bank Case Study

Systematics provides the foundation for digital transformation

ANZ Bank, a leading retail and institutional bank in Australia and New Zealand, faced an out-of-support, pre‑internet core platform that was expensive to maintain and prevented a fully interactive, omnichannel digital customer experience. To avoid losing competitive edge and align technology with business strategy, ANZ Bank chose to modernize its core banking by upgrading the Systematics platform from FIS.

FIS implemented a phased Systematics upgrade—completed over two years with two weekend cutovers—converting over 2 billion transactions and 4.1 million accounts while upgrading 37,000 code elements and training 7,705 users. The FIS solution delivered real‑time payments and alerts, 7‑day omnichannel banking, multicurrency and multiagency support, faster processing, higher customer satisfaction and reduced staff handling of queries, providing ANZ Bank a streamlined, future‑proof core.
