Case Study: Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp achieves record-breaking attendance and modernized, scalable payments with FIS

A FIS Case Study

Preview of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Case Study

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp - Customer Case Study

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, a Minor League Baseball team, aimed to turn their historic ballpark into a “Ballpark of the Future” by modernizing payments, loyalty and point-of-sale systems. FIS — the official payments and loyalty provider of Minor League Baseball — was engaged to deliver solutions including FIS Instant Data Exchange, Loyalty Rewards, merchant processing, point-of-sale consoles and prepaid card services.

FIS implemented scalable merchant processing (handling up to 10,000 transactions per game), mobile and fixed POS devices, and prepaid card programs for team purchases and player payroll/per diem. The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp recorded a 23% attendance increase to a team record 325,743 in 2017 and processed over 1 million transactions that year, showing FIS’s ability to scale and enable new fan services like in-seat ordering and expanded loyalty programs.
