Cross Keys Bank, a community bank facing the industry-wide shift to mobile payments in 2015, needed to offer a seamless Apple Pay experience to stay competitive with larger banks. FIS stepped in using its Core Banking and Mobile Wallets capabilities to simplify and scale Apple Pay enablement for community financial institutions.
FIS executed a mass-enablement program that expanded Apple Pay availability from five institutions to more than 200 within a year (a roughly 40x increase), enabling Apple Pay for 195+ core banking clients. The FIS solution drove measurable impact — a collective 350% increase in monthly transactions and the fact that 50% of Apple Pay–enabled financial institutions are FIS clients — helping Cross Keys Bank and others deliver modern mobile payments to their customers.
