Atom Bank set out to reach Millennials largely underserved by traditional banks by launching the U.K.’s first digital-only, app-centered bank. To do this it partnered with FIS for cost‑effective, outsourced technology operations including real‑time banking infrastructure and interfaces to third‑party systems to support a fully digital, self‑service experience.
FIS implemented real-time processing, paper-free account opening, face and voice biometric security, and machine‑learning customer service, enabling Atom to deliver integrated, personalized services and rapidly launch new offerings. As a result, Atom Bank serves 14 million first‑adopter Millennial customers today and is on track to reach 17 million by 2019, increasing customer loyalty and agility in product deployment.
