British Deaf Association delivers 30+ accessible sessions at BSL Conference 2025 with First Event

The British Deaf Association (BDA) faced the challenge of creating a fully accessible and inclusive landmark conference to celebrate its 135th anniversary. They partnered with First Event to design a large-scale, two-day event that would bring together Deaf and hearing attendees, ensuring equal engagement for all, including blind, Deaf, and hard-of-hearing delegates, in a new and larger venue.

First Event delivered a comprehensive solution with accessibility at its core, integrating British/American Sign Language interpreters, live captions, and induction loops into every session. They managed a scaled-up production with advanced multi-room AV and a program of 30+ presentations, culminating in a celebratory gala. The result was a seamless, high-impact event that fully engaged all attendees and established a best-practice model for future inclusive conferences.
