Case Study: New Rochelle strengthens public safety with Firetide video surveillance

A Firetide Case Study

New Rochelle expands to 45 video cameras in 21 spots with Firetide

New Rochelle, a city in New York, sought to enhance public safety through a video surveillance system but needed a reliable and secure network to support it. The city partnered with vendor Firetide to create a wireless backbone for their surveillance cameras.

Firetide implemented a wireless mesh network using its HotPort 7000 nodes and Mobility Controllers, connecting Axis cameras mounted on city-owned infrastructure. This solution provided a secure, private network for high-quality video feeds. The New Rochelle Police Department uses the system proactively for investigations and real-time response, and plans to expand coverage and stream video to patrol cars. The Firetide network ensures reliable surveillance, helping maintain the city's status as one of the safest in the U.S.
