Elekt Labs, a Czech software company focused on data collection, planning, and optimization for manufacturing, needed a universal, highly customizable system to connect production technology with ERP systems, quantify manufacturing performance, support audits and certification, track machine setting changes, and manage material traceability. To meet these needs, the company chose Firebird SQL for its new MASA II platform, which supports industrial plants and integrates with economic systems, attendance systems, and shop-floor equipment.

Firebird implemented the database foundation for MASA II along with applications for data transfer, diagnostics, maintenance, and web-based data presentation. The solution supports Elekt Labs’ 24/7 operations at scale, including a 70 GB database, about 43 online connections, roughly 3.4 transactions per second, and around 290,000 transactions per day, while helping Elekt Labs deliver a flexible, cost-effective system with performance comparable to commercial databases.
