A Firebase Case Study
Tamedia, a Swiss media group behind the BZ and 24 Heures apps, wanted to increase monthly subscription sales and improve awareness of its premium offers among frequent users who were not yet subscribed. Working with Firebase, Tamedia tested ways to better convert engaged readers into paying subscribers.
Firebase helped Tamedia use Google Analytics-based user segmentation and Firebase In-App Messaging to send targeted custom alerts to non-subscribers based on their reading behavior. The results were strong: BZ saw a 29% increase in subscription purchases, with 82% of purchases coming through the notification, while 24 Heures saw an 8% increase in in-app purchases, with more than two-thirds of subscriptions driven by the alerts.
