Unicel Technologies, a leading provider of wireless enterprise mobility and enterprise messaging solutions, needed to replace a highly resource-intensive, point-to-point middleware setup built with custom C, C++ and Java applications on IBM/Linux and Apache servers. The existing architecture was difficult to scale, costly to maintain, and lacked service virtualization, security, and reliable reuse of components for high-volume SMS processing.

Fiorano Software implemented its Fiorano ESB/SOA platform and Fiorano Studio to orchestrate Unicel’s messaging workflows, validations, routing, and gateway delivery using reusable, drag-and-drop components. With Fiorano Software, Unicel achieved five-fold performance gains, raised daily throughput to a record 52 million messages, improved security and failover, reduced downtime, and beat SLA targets by over 80% while lowering development effort and cost.
