A Fiorano Software Case Study
POSCO, the world’s largest steel manufacturer, needed to modernize and standardize a highly complex, fragmented IT environment across its mills in Seoul, Pohang, and KwangYang. With hundreds of heterogeneous systems, multiple operating systems and legacy protocols, point-to-point interfaces, manual monitoring, and no effective disaster recovery, POSCO struggled to integrate shop-floor systems with its digital management platform, POSPIA. To address these challenges, POSCO selected Fiorano Software’s Fiorano Enterprise Service Bus (Fiorano ESB).
Fiorano Software implemented Fiorano ESB to connect legacy and modern systems, translate between protocols, automate business processes, centralize monitoring, and provide failover support for disaster recovery. The solution enabled real-time data exchange, remote debugging, and easier integration of varied data formats and applications, helping POSCO streamline internal operations and improve service responsiveness. The case study reports that Fiorano ESB reduced manual effort, shortened troubleshooting, and supported high availability, though it does not provide specific numeric ROI figures.
