Polaris accelerates revenues & puts customer service on a real-time highway

Polaris Transport, a leading Canadian and U.S. LTL logistics provider, needed a faster way to handle rapidly growing cross-border freight volumes while improving customer service. Its existing IT environment relied on disparate applications, including TruckMate transportation management software, Kofax Agility servers, and EDI batch processes, which required heavy point-to-point custom development to enable real-time communication. Fiorano Software was brought in to help unify these systems.

Using the Fiorano platform and ESB, Polaris and Fiorano Software built new services to exchange data between TruckMate and Kofax, automate file and data extraction, and support PDF creation and merging. The result was real-time integration across the company’s applications, faster deployment with no coding, and improved reliability and agility. Polaris reported handling more than 1,000 transactions per day and serving growing business with half the staff, while also reducing consulting costs, speeding up processes, and eliminating data quality issues.
