Howden Group, an international insurance intermediary operating across multiple regions and business lines, was constrained by a heavily customized legacy core platform that had been in place for over 30 years and no longer had vendor support. This made it difficult for the business to launch new propositions without costly, disruptive technology overhauls. FintechOS was brought in through Hyperion X to help modernize the group’s trading platforms using its Northstar platform.

FintechOS implemented a flexible, API-driven Northstar solution tailored to Howden Group’s needs, including a new front end and integrations with legacy systems, SSO, and marketing tools. The first Quote and Bind process was reduced from two weeks to just 2 hours, and a new Binder portal launched in 3 months helped cut operating costs and grow the book by over 120% through increased automation. The platform also created a rapid deployment runway for future initiatives across Howden Group.
