Using Finishline as an Organizational Tool to Save Time and Money

J.H. Findorff & Son Inc., the general contractor for the 496,000‑square‑foot UW Health at The American Center on a 42‑acre site in Madison, needed a way to get owners, architects, engineers and dozens of subcontractors on the same page for QA/QC. FinishLine Software was brought in to provide its list management platform and FinishLine Pro App to replace paper checklists and spreadsheets and to integrate subcontractors into a single, trackable quality process.

FinishLine Software implemented electronic checklists, a centralized issue‑tracking database, task assignment and automated reporting (accessible via iPad and smartphone), enabling real‑time collaboration among Findorff, the owner, architects and subs. The solution eliminated lost paper checklists, reduced missing information and errors, streamlined pre‑punch and closeout activities, and sped report distribution by email—helping the team minimize the final punch list and save measurable time and dollars on a project that included 11 operating rooms and a 56‑bed hospital.
