A Faster, More Seamless Mortgage Approval Process With Finicity Digital Verification

Waterstone Mortgage faced slow, paper-heavy mortgage approvals—loan originators had to collect and scan physical bank statements and juggle multiple systems within their Encompass LOS—so the lender sought a way to digitize asset verification and improve the customer experience. To solve this, Waterstone evaluated and then adopted Finicity’s digital asset and account verification platform, integrating it into Encompass.

Finicity was piloted at select branches and fully rolled out in about 90 days, embedded in Encompass via an iframe for seamless use by originators. The Finicity integration drove a 10–15% monthly increase in digital verifications between March and June, eliminated manual data entry, delivered real‑time data feeds, and set the stage for Finicity’s TXVerify to boost employment/income verification hit rates from roughly 30% to about 70%, improving speed, accuracy, and customer trust.
