Mediobanca Reduces the Operational Cost of its Lending Services with Finastra

Mediobanca, a leading Italian investment and corporate bank, faced regulatory-driven pressure from the Central Bank of Luxembourg to upgrade its lending systems and remove time-consuming manual processes. To modernize loan management, improve straight-through processing and better handle secondary market and negative-rate rules, Mediobanca selected Finastra and its Fusion Loan IQ solution, using Finastra’s Fusion Advance implementation approach.

Finastra delivered the latest Fusion Loan IQ with support from its Global Services team, combining remote and on-site work to go live five months ahead of schedule and cut flight-related carbon emissions by 57% for the project. The upgrade eliminated many manual tasks, improved processing speed and controls, required one development sprint instead of three, and is expected to reduce Mediobanca’s operational lending costs by up to 25% while enabling faster, more accurate customer servicing and ongoing innovation via the Fusion Loan IQ SDK.
