A Finastra Case Study

Preview of the BTPN Case Study

Launching Jenius a New Digital Bank in Indonesia

BTPN, a Jakarta‑headquartered commercial bank, wanted to enter Indonesia’s fast‑growing retail digital market but faced strong competition from established banks and needed a rapid, frictionless offering. To launch its mobile digital bank Jenius, BTPN partnered with Finastra and adopted Finastra’s Fusion Digital Channels and Fusion Equation core banking platform to underpin the new proposition.

Finastra delivered an integrated Fusion Digital Channels/Fusion Equation solution and a joint onshore–offshore agile development model, enabling features such as direct mobile onboarding (a first in Indonesia), $Cashtag account IDs, peer payments, split‑bill, and in‑app Visa debit card management. The Jenius rollout has given BTPN a compelling digital experience, positioning the bank to win “hundreds of thousands” of new customers, drive growth and rapidly evolve services with Finastra’s platform.
