Consumers Credit Union, a Michigan-based credit union serving communities since 1951, faced limits from a legacy core banking system that hindered product development and growth. To modernize and boost agility, Consumers Credit Union partnered with Finastra and migrated its core to Finastra’s Fusion Phoenix platform.
Finastra implemented Fusion Phoenix with open API integrations (online account opening, SMS management, lending tools, etc.), enabling faster product development and streamlined operations. As a result, Consumers Credit Union grew assets from $320 million to $1.1 billion while increasing staff from 127 to 295, reduced a 40-step member sign-up process that took over five minutes to under 30 seconds, saved about two minutes per contact in the call center, and reclaimed over 1,000 working hours annually across roughly 120 employees — demonstrating measurable efficiency and growth driven by Finastra.
