Beacon Credit Union Attracts New Members with Competitive Consumer Loans

Beacon Credit Union, a $1.4 billion credit union with 22 locations and over 48,000 members, needed to grow beyond its agricultural lending base and modernize a loan processing system that was nearing end-of-life. To attract new members and deliver a consistent, low‑touch in-branch and online lending experience, Beacon chose Finastra and its lending solutions—initially LaserPro and later the Finastra Total Lending – Premium bundle including DecisionPro—to centralize and streamline decisioning and origination.

Finastra implemented LaserPro (integrated with Beacon’s core) and DecisionPro to automate loan documentation, decisioning and back‑office workflows. As a result, Beacon reduced new loan processing to about 30 minutes, grew its consumer lending base by 9% over four years, empowered over 100 frontline staff to guide applications, sped up loan decisions, and simplified regulatory updates—delivering measurable gains in efficiency and member experience with Finastra as a strategic partner.
