International insurance and reinsurance broker upgrades SunSystems and integrates expense management with leading SunSystems Partner, FinanSys

Cogent is an established independent international insurance and reinsurance broker based at Lloyd’s, with over 30 employees and roughly £10 million turnover. Facing IT obsolescence and needing stronger multi-currency accounting plus a move away from a heavily paper-based expense process, Cogent chose FinanSys to upgrade its SunSystems environment to Sun 6.4 with Q&A 11 and to integrate third‑party electronic expense software.

FinanSys completed the SunSystems upgrade and delivered a bespoke integration of the expense capture, processing and paperless filing solution (led by FinanSys consultant Deniz Guyuk), eliminating duplicate data entry and fully digitalising expense management. The result is a paperless, remote‑friendly system that handles complex multi‑currency expenses, saved time and cost, and—despite COVID‑19 lockdown constraints—was delivered on time and on budget by FinanSys.
