A Finalsite Case Study
Cardinal Gibbons High School in Raleigh faced the common but complex challenge of launching a true 1:1 program—balancing research, training, device selection and the logistics of distributing 800 laptops while ensuring faculty, students and parents were supported and prepared. The school needed a sustainable support model to make the transition manageable and effective.
CGHS trained staff up front and formed S.T.A.R.S. (Student Technical Assistance Resources), a student-run help desk that configured devices, staffed support before/during/after school and assisted at parent events. The student team eased the IT workload, ensured a smooth rollout, improved user confidence among parents and faculty, and became a valued part of the school’s culture of leadership and service.
