ATHI Water Solar Power Plant Oloitokitok powers 2 x 750 kW solar plants with FIMER

FIMER provided its PVS-100 cloud-connected solar inverters for a water pumping station project in Oloitokitok, Kenya. The customer, Athi Water Solar Power Plant Oloitokitok, sought to reduce electricity costs and shortages for its pumping station, which was previously reliant on a diesel generator. The challenge was to ensure a reliable and cost-efficient power supply in an area with limited grid availability.

The solution implemented by FIMER consisted of two 750 kW solar plants using 16 PVS-100 inverters, set to no-injection mode to directly power the pumps. This replaced the genset, reducing electricity bills and providing energy security for the local population. FIMER's technology enabled a streamlined installation and optimized energy harvesting, paving the way for larger solar projects in Kenya and setting the stage for future grid support.
