FileWave Manages Deployment of 8000+ iPads to East Allen County Schools Students and Staff

East Allen County Schools, a large district in New Haven, Indiana serving eleven elementary and seven secondary schools, faced the challenge of distributing and managing more than 8,000 iPads—each encoded with individual student names and IDs—and keeping apps and files current across devices used by students and staff. To meet this need they partnered with FileWave, using FileWave’s device management and deployment solution to handle initial imaging, enrollment, and ongoing app distribution.

FileWave implemented an optimized server setup, provided on-site and remote engineering support during the rollout, and enabled seamless app updates (avoiding data loss) plus rapid iBooks distribution via a beta within two weeks of request. The result was a successful deployment of 8,000+ iPads to five high schools within a five-day window, reliable daily management of apps and files using existing hardware, and improved device tracking and security enabled by FileWave.
