A FileWave Case Study
Mooresville Graded School District launched a district-wide "Digital Conversion" to provide a laptop to every student and staff member (over 5,000 devices) and needed a Mac-friendly management solution to distribute and retract software, control bandwidth, and reduce time- and labor-intensive IT work. They chose FileWave and its device management platform (including the FileWave Kiosk) to meet those needs.
FileWave deployed a single-admin system to push, maintain and pull back software, offer a student-facing Kiosk, manage bandwidth and perform background installs, enabling IT to remotely reach all 5,000 machines and free staff for higher-value work like a student-run help desk. With FileWave in place Mooresville became Apple’s Distinguished District and saw measurable gains: composite test scores rose 21%, the dropout rate fell 54%, and the district climbed from 38th to 3rd on North Carolina’s schools of distinction.
