Triptography built a photo-driven travel planning app during the 24-hour Photo Hack Day NYC and faced the challenge of quickly importing, managing and using user photos from multiple social sources and devices. The team needed a reliable file-handler and social import capability, so they chose Filestack (using the Filestack widget and planning future JavaScript and iOS developer kit integration) to enable photo capture and ingestion from networks like Facebook and Instagram.

Filestack’s widget was integrated during the hackathon to let users take photos, access their camera, and import images from dozens of sources, giving Triptography the file handling and social import features it required. The Filestack-powered functionality helped Triptography ship a working prototype in 24 hours and contributed to winning the Photo Organization Prize, Best Foursquare Hack and Best Filestack Hack, while enabling users to create mapped photo itineraries and future social sharing features.
