OpenWater is a cloud-based platform that automates awards, competitions and recognition programs, and faced a major challenge getting entrants to upload and admins to view large volumes of media (especially video) seamlessly within the submission workflow. After a failed in-house upload attempt and an unsatisfactory provider, OpenWater adopted Filestack to handle file and media uploads directly in their system.

Filestack’s upload and media-handling tools power OpenWater’s automated galleries and streaming, eliminating manual uploads and developer intervention and allowing admins and judges to access entries in one place. The results were dramatic: Filestack supported heavy peak usage (reporting 100,000 referrals from a single client) and helped cut customer upload failures from 7% to 0.1%, enabling OpenWater’s rapid growth.
