A FileHold Case Study
The Central Coast Regional District (CCRD) is a small, remote local government on British Columbia’s mid coast serving under 4,000 residents across five unincorporated communities. Staff had accumulated fragmented electronic files on individual PCs and a single shared folder, making backup, search and organization difficult; with no local IT providers and a tight budget, CCRD needed a records management solution that followed LGMA guidelines and could be installed, trained and supported remotely.
CCRD worked with FileHold and partner MicroCom to deploy FileHold’s document and records management software on a Hyper-V virtual server with SQL Express. FileHold provided pre-install checks, a two-hour guaranteed install, ongoing HealthChecker diagnostics and remote training, enabling a centralized library, LGMA-compliant classification and retention schedules, easier backups and a move toward a paperless office. Staff report the installation and remote support met expectations and the system is now in active use.
