eID Solutions, an Australian IT integration firm, was engaged by a small organization that runs harness racing operations and related commercial services. With a tiny staff and a goal to start converting paper records to electronic form, they needed an automated document management system in place immediately — late June approval for a July 1 fiscal-year start left only a very short implementation window.

eID partnered with FileHold (a Microsoft-integrated document management product) and used FileHold’s automated installers plus remote desktop collaboration to deploy the system. The two teams completed the installation in under two hours despite being 17 hours apart, and had a full solution in place within two working days. The result was a centrally managed repository that began eliminating paper, added version control and automated contract reminders, improved information retrieval and freed the small staff to focus on higher-value work.
