Max Planck secures and locks down sensitive research data

Max Planck Florida Institute (MPFI) in Jupiter, Florida, is a neuroscience research center studying brain function and molecular processes, including work on Alzheimer’s disease. Because their research data is highly sensitive and often shared with external collaborators, MPFI needed enterprise-grade file sync and sharing with the option to store data on-premises and maintain strict access controls.

MPFI deployed the enterprise on‑premises FileCloud solution, giving administrators fine-grained user/group permissions, web access to files, large-file sharing with external researchers, version control, and remote wipe/revoke capabilities for mobile devices. The result is a secure, scalable, and cost‑effective private cloud that keeps sensitive data in-house while enabling collaboration and administrative oversight to meet the institute’s requirements.
