A Fiix Case Study

Preview of the Takeoff Technologies Case Study

How one maintenance team helped its customers achieve 99.8% availability in under a year

Takeoff Technologies, a Boston-based startup that runs automated micro fulfillment centers for online grocery retailers, needed to prevent costly downtime across its global sites while supporting just-in-time order fulfillment. With equipment operating 24/7 and teams spread across time zones, Takeoff needed a maintenance system that could standardize processes, improve response times, and help reduce failures. The company chose Fiix CMMS to support its field service and maintenance operations.

Fiix helped Takeoff implement a shared “One Team, One Framework, One Rhythm” maintenance model across its sites, standardizing work orders, assets, spare parts, tools, and preventive maintenance. As a result, Takeoff tripled mean time between failures from 364 hours to 1,168 hours, improved reliability from 63% to 83%, and reached 99.8% availability, enabling customers to fulfill orders in under 30 minutes.
