Case Study: Perth County Ingredients achieves 54% reduction in reactive maintenance with Fiix

A Fiix Case Study

Preview of the Perth County Ingredients Case Study

How a maintenance manager cut reactive maintenance by 54% and saved over $40,000 a year

Perth County Ingredients (PCI), a dried-egg processing facility, faced aging equipment and a maintenance operation that was entirely reactive, leaving the team constantly putting out fires and dealing with frequent after-hours emergency call-ins. Maintenance/project manager Tom Dufton set out to modernize the plant and gain better operational visibility so the team could move from reaction to planning.

Tom implemented a building automation system alongside the Fiix CMMS, issued tablets with the Fiix app to technicians, and standardized SOPs and asset-based scheduled work. The changes cut after-hours call-ins by 42% and reactive maintenance by 54%, freed Tom to manage a $4M capex project, and enabled him to roll the solution out to seven other facilities while supporting remote operations and reduced on-site staffing during COVID-19.
