A Figma Case Study
Itaú Unibanco, a major financial institution, faced the challenge of modernizing its complex, century-old organization to become more customer-centric. With over 25,000 people involved in product development using 12 different and often offline tools, their design processes were fragmented, leading to misalignment and slow speed. To overcome this, they turned to the vendor Figma and its products, Figma Design and FigJam, to unify their collaboration.
By implementing Figma as their central platform, Itaú Unibanco created a unified framework for design and collaboration. This solution enabled cross-functional teams to map journeys in FigJam and build high-fidelity prototypes in Figma, drastically improving alignment and speed. The results were significant: the bank achieved 80% design system adherence, accelerated its work by up to twice as fast, and launched 45 new digital products in a single year. This transformation also led to a substantial rise in customer satisfaction scores across the business.
