Houle Electric faced a complex two-year electrical contract on the Neptune Terminals coal terminal upgrade in British Columbia, managing thousands of drawings, test reports and strict documentation requirements while coordinating with multiple subcontractors and contractors. To streamline administration and increase transparency with the client, Houle Electric adopted Fieldwire by Hilti’s field management software to handle task tracking, drawings, inspections and reporting.

Fieldwire by Hilti was implemented to link tasks to drawings, photos and reports, enabling Houle to manage over 30,000 tasks, produce clear deficiency reports for the client, and speed information access from minutes to a fraction of the time. The solution improved version control and photo management, reduced printing costs by an estimated $100,000, and has since been rolled out to 14 additional projects as Houle expands Fieldwire by Hilti use for QA/QC, safety reporting and RFIs.
