EllisDon streamlined plan management, progress updates, and communication while working on the $800m Providence Care Hospital project

EllisDon, the Ontario-based construction firm leading the Providence Care Hospital project, needed to solve daily field inefficiencies while managing the building envelope and exterior work across a 30‑acre site with up to 700 on-site workers. To address real‑time coordination, EllisDon implemented Fieldwire by Hilti’s Fieldwire construction app — a task- and issue-tracking platform used to keep teams on-task and up-to-date.

Fieldwire by Hilti delivered real‑time task management with email and mobile push notifications, offline data capture and sync, and an open API integration with EllisDon’s Gate Three ERP to eliminate double data entry. The platform let EllisDon assign deficiencies directly to contractors, speed issue resolution, coordinate hundreds of workers on the $350M Providence Care contract, and — in Mike Armstrong’s words — “absolutely” saved them time on-site.
