Bear Construction Company, a Chicago-based interior development firm focused on tenant buildouts, struggled to keep hundreds of drawing sets, site notes, and as-built documents organized and accessible across dispersed teams and time zones. To solve this, they implemented Fieldwire by Hilti, a mobile and desktop platform for plan versioning, communication, issue tracking, and task management.

Fieldwire by Hilti enabled on-site markups, photo attachments, detailed notes in offline mode with automatic sync, and real-time update notifications with timestamps, streamlining meetings and remote collaboration. Senior PM Nick Minella says the app is “ten times easier” than prior tools; as a result, Bear Construction Company reduced housekeeping, improved plan management across dozens of projects (with about $200M in slated work in 2017), and saved time coordinating stakeholders in different locations.
