Large Metropolitan Train Network - Customer Case Study

FieldFLEX worked with a large metropolitan train network operating more than 200 stations and 500 passenger carriages, which struggled to keep platforms and carriages maintained as demand and locations changed throughout the day. Pre-scheduled cleaning and maintenance could not keep up with unpredictable network conditions, and assigning staff to fixed sites or routes left assets vulnerable.

FieldFLEX implemented its Dynamic Work Assignment solution with a scheduling tool, mobile work management app, and Bluetooth LE beacons on platforms and in carriages to detect location and proximity to assets. This allowed tasks to be assigned automatically to the nearest qualified and available personnel, while timekeeping and task synchronization were automated as staff moved between stations. The train network achieved fully automated records, better route efficiency, improved mobile performance, and met or exceeded safety and cleanliness service levels.
