Lyell Immunopharma Improves Cloud Security with Fidelis Cybersecurity

Lyell Immunopharma, a South San Francisco–based cell therapy company, needed to protect proprietary cloud-hosted data and meet stringent biotech regulatory standards while keeping operations automated and easy to manage. After evaluating vendors, Lyell selected Fidelis CloudPassage Halo® from Fidelis Cybersecurity for its ability to programmatically define configuration via APIs and integrate security into their CI/CD and SDLC workflows.

Fidelis Cybersecurity deployed Fidelis Halo Cloud SecureTM across Lyell’s AWS environment, applying CIS benchmark policies, inventorying workloads (including containerized Lambdas), and adding vulnerability management, file integrity monitoring, log‑based intrusion detection, and container monitoring. Lyell leveraged the Fidelis Halo REST API to automate account provisioning and CI/CD checks, speeding asset tagging and policy assignment, automating issue management, improving compliance, and accelerating their cloud security implementation by about one year.
