LAUDA Optimizes Security by Inccreasing Visibility and Control

LAUDA, the global leader in precise temperature control systems, faced a serious cybersecurity challenge when Germany’s BSI alerted them in April 2020 that their IT environment was under attack. With a complex, distributed infrastructure (central datacenter, Citrix delivery, global Active Directory, multiple ERP systems and IoT projects) their existing defenses failed to detect command-and-control traffic. LAUDA engaged QGroup and Fidelis Cybersecurity, deploying the Fidelis Network solution to eliminate blind spots and regain control.

Fidelis Cybersecurity quickly implemented the Fidelis Network to provide deep asset and traffic visibility, generating terrain maps and inventories that exposed anomalies and existing hidden compromises. The team detected the intrusion in early stages—impact limited to one client and two servers—allowing rapid isolation and removal, discovered and cleaned remnants of prior attacks, and accelerated triage and response across endpoints, network and cloud. As a result LAUDA outsourced security operations to QGroup while continuing to rely on Fidelis Cybersecurity for automatic discovery, classification and behavior‑anomaly detection, yielding far fewer reported issues and faster mean‑time‑to‑detection.
